"Those are crazy shoes." His voice was quiet with rough edges.
Papa had come shuffling out of the back bedroom when we crashed in, fresh out of Chinatown and full of high spirits. We were making a lot of noise; we were noisy kids—Maria, Marta, and me, stomping around the house in our new shoes that my mom had bought for us. We said hello to Papa, hugged his thin body, gave him a kiss on one wrinkled windfall apple cheek, dancing around the room and kicking up our heels.

Raindrops on Lillies Fat gray raindrops on gray stone. We came here every Easter, to visit Grandpa and Grandma Raddatz, stretched out next to each other, so close their old bones touched. They never said a word, but my mother spoke to them anyway, kneeling in the dirt to tender offerings of white Easter lilies that filled the empty grounds with their heavenly smell, a breath of fresh air among the rotting dead.

Jacob and I stood behind her, holding hands, he in his pale blue suit, and I in a dress of pink and white. We waited for our mother to finish her conversation with our grandparents. We had always waited here, silent and still in the background of the rRaindrops on Lillies by ~wer3wolph
Magic Fingers My dad's hands are magic. Stubbed and knotted like tree bark, with rough knuckles and twisted joints, fingernails short and dirty, two pointer fingers that never pointed straight, they are hands that were always stained with paint or grease or wood stain. They are knobbed and gnarled, with short rounded fingers that stuck out in all directions, pounded raw and red, chaffed and calloused, chapped and grimy.

Hands have always fascinated me for as long as I can remember. Long fingers, small fingers; slender palms and thick, meaty weights; round and square and oval—clean and delicate, sullied and hardened, any kind at all. I love their versatMagic Fingers by ~wer3wolph

Yeah, it's been awhile. Not that it's that important because I mostly have this FOR STALKING PEOPLE ZOMG.
Especially stalking a certain adorable platapus-holding girl on my favorites list... YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, DEVIATION.


The most important thing right now is the fact that I've been not-so-industriously working on my NaNoWriMo ([link]) novel...thing. And I'm working slowly but surely but it's been hectic considering I was/am working hard to memorize lines for plays and whatnot.

Anyway, nanowolph ([link]) is my writing journal, not that it does you a lot of good unless you have livejournal...



Aaaaaaand I'm done.
